    Head coach for the Detroit Pistons (1972-76)
    NBA Coach of the Year (1974)

Why he might be annoying:

    He shares his name with a country singer-songwriter and a sportscaster.
    He failed get the Pistons to advance to the NBA Finals as they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in 6 games of the 1962 NBA Western Division Finals in his first playoff appearance as a player.
    His head coaching NBA playoff career record was 4-6.
    He was fired as the Pistons' head coach as the team's productivity went downhill after two consecutive playoff appearances.
    His stint as the head coach of the Eastern Michigan University basketball team was a disaster.
