The Resume

    (circa 1955- )
    Born in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
    Founded Lisa Frank, Inc.
Known for selling school supplies in neon colors, frequently decorated with rainbows, unicorns, and dolphins

Why she might be annoying:

If you were not a teenage girl, her designs were kitschy.
Her company's sales dropped sharply since their mid-90s peak, partly due to changing tastes, partly due to a protracted legal battle with her ex-husband (who was also the company CEO).
Her company stopped producing its own products and instead licenses her name and designs to other firms.
She has been described as 'notoriously elusive and private.'
Probably not coincidentally, ex-employees reported that she was obsessed with her body image and fading youth.

Why she might not be annoying:

As a high school senior, she sold $3,000 of her art at a showing.
Company sales peaked at $60 million annually in the mid-1990s.
A ten-year-old Mila Kunis starred in one of her company's ads (1993).
'The Spectator' wrote, 'Lisa Frank was more than just a name or a brand; she was a movement, a religion.'
Original Trapper Keepers with her designs have sold for over $1,000 on eBay.
