U.S. Senator

The Resume

    (July 21, 1952- )
    Born in Reading, Pennsylvania
    Orthopedic surgeon
Member of the Wyoming State Senate (2003-07)
US Senator from Wyoming (assumed office June 25, 2007)
    Republican

Why he might be annoying:

He was pro-choice during an unsuccessful run for Senate in 1996, pro-life during his 2008 re-election campaign.
He misrepresented an insurance company study to claim that 119 million Americans would lose their existing coverage under Obamacare (2009).
He tried to eliminate tax credits for electric cars while increasing them for coal mines.
He falsely claimed the Green New Deal would ban livestock, so 'American favorites like cheeseburgers and milkshakes would become a thing of the past.'
It's probably just a coincidence that he received over $500,000 in campaign contributions from fossil fuel companies in 2012 and 2018.

Why he might not be annoying:

He volunteered as a team physician for Casper College and several high schools,
He returns to Wyoming each weekend.
In three years, he went from being named least powerful Senator by 'Roll Call' to being elected vice-chair of the Senate Leadership Conference, the fifth-highest position in the Senate GOP hierarchy.
He supported strictly limiting the use of hydrofluorocarbons that contribute to global warming.
He joined President Trump in a surprise Thanksgiving visit to US troops stationed at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan (2019).
