    His full name is a mouthful to pronounce.
    He opted to forego his remaining three years of college eligibility to enter the NBA Draft.
    He refused to attend a workout for the Memphis Grizzlies, going as far as telling the team not to draft him.
    He was suspended by the NBA on two occasions for leaving the bench to participate in an on-court brawl.
    He is known by non-basketball fans as being the titular subject of rapper Sheck Wes’s debut single.

    He was a first generation American born to parents who emigrated to the United States from the Ivory Coast.
    He developed an interest in playing basketball as a child, due to the popularity of the sport in Harlem.
    He was childhood friends with Sheck Wes, who wrote the song ‘Mo Bamba’ as a homage to him.
    He surpassed Rudy Gobert‘s NBA Scouting Combine record for the longest recorded wingspan at 7’10.
    It was rumoured he recorded a speed which was faster then the majority of the active NBA players in his draft year.
