Why he might be annoying:

    He is divorced and remarried.
    He doesn’t like to discuss anything in regards to his personal life.
    He was forced to withdraw from the 100 m hurdle event at the 2008 Olympics, due to making a false start.
    He tore his Achilles tendon at the 2012 Summer Olympics trying to clear the first hurdle in the heats.
    His Achilles injury essentially derailed his competitive career altogether.

    He was considered a national icon in China.
    He is the first Chinese Olympian to earn a gold medal in a track and field event.
