The Resume

    (January 11, 1965- )
    Born in Bethesda, Maryland
Political analyst and editor at large for Time magazine
Senior political analyst for MSNBC and Bloomberg Television
With John Helleman wrote ‘Game Change’ (2010) and ‘Double Down: Game Change 2012’ (2013)

Why he might be annoying:

He bristled at being called a ‘political junkie’: ‘People don’t describe sports fans or historians as junkies.’
He was suspended from MSNBC for a month after saying that Barack Obama came off as ‘kind of a dick’ at a press conference (2011).
He was named the top journalistic hack by Salon, which called his reporting ‘both fixated on the horse race and uniquely bad at analyzing the horse race.’
He was accused of racist questioning when he asked Ted Cruz to speak Spanish and name his favorite Cuban dishes and favorite Hispanic musicians. (2015).
His suggestion on ‘Morning Joe’ that Donald Trump could flip California to the Republican column was so outlandish that even host Joe Scarborough broke out laughing.
He was fired by MSNBC after a dozen women came forward with allegations of sexual harassment (October 30, 2017).
An example of the accusations: ‘I went up to have a soda and talk and – he just kissed me and grabbed my boobs.’

Why he might not be annoying:

As a high school student, he spent a summer with a family in Japan as part of the Youth for Understanding program.
He is an uncanny mimic: his Al Gore impression was said to be as good as Darrell Hammond’s.
His political digest ‘The Note’ was must reading for Washington insiders.
Paul Begala said, ‘The President has the PDB, the Presidential Daily Briefing, where the CIA takes all its information and gives it to the President. For everyone else in Washington, Halperin and the Note are our version of the PDB.’
He said he had recognized that he had a problem mistreating women and had undergone weekly counseling sessions to change his behavior.
