Why he might be annoying:

He talks with a lisp.
There is a strong belief that he used steroids.
Case in point: he went from being a slap hitter to smashing 50 home runs in 1996.
He has been accused of being in the closet about his sexuality.
When he had appendicitis in 1996, it is rumored that he didn’t go for surgery at the time because they would detect steroids in his system during pre-op procedures.
When asked if he was ever called ‘Babe’ in reference to Babe Ruth, he responded, 'People always call me babe, but not because I hit home runs.’
Because of his sideburns, he was often mistaken Luke Perry.

Why he might not be annoying:

He once told Jerry Coleman of 98 Rock (despised by many in the media) to go fuck himself.
He holds the Orioles team record for home runs in a season (50).
He and Barry Bonds are the only players in history to record 50 home runs in a season and 50 steals in another.
He is good-natured about people questioning his sexuality, and has dated some incredibly hot women, including Amanda Coetzer, Ashley Judd and model Ingrid Vandebosch.
In 1992, he became the only player in AL history to have 20 home runs, 50 steals and 75 RBIs in the same season.
He portrayed himself on an episode of ’Beverly Hills, 90210.’
