The Resume

    (October 13, 1910-September 29, 1977)
    Born in Denver, Colorado
Worked for Harman and Ising (1930-33), Warner Brothers Cartoons (1933-64,1968-69), and Depatie-Freleng Studios (1964-68,1972-77)
Created the characters Speedy Gonzalez, Foghorn Leghorn, and the Tasmanian Devil

Why he might be annoying:

He claimed that a concussion he suffered in a 1932 car accident improved his ability to visualize, letting him work more quickly than before.
Although he drew the definitive character sheet for Bugs Bunny (1943), the first Bugs Bunny shorts he directed ignored the character sheets, resulting in an unusually pudgy Bugs.
He was overshadowed by fellow Looney Tunes animators Chuck Jones and Fritz Freleng.
Two days after being a clean bill of health by his doctor, he went to lunch with coworkers Fritz Freleng and David DePatie, boasted, ‘I’m going to be around after you guys are gone!’ – then suddenly died from a heart attack.

Why he might not be annoying:

Before directing his own shorts, he was Warner Brothers’ go-to artist whenever a realistic-looking character had to be animated.
Bob Clampett noted, ‘He could make a final detailed drawing of a character without first sketching in a single rough guide line.’
He said about Jones and Freleng, ‘They made it a point to hold me—or anybody else—down, so that they could be on top.’
He was the only animator to work for Warner Brothers from the beginning of the Looney Tunes era until the animation studio closed.
