    Born in Plains, Texas
    Center/linebacker/offensive tackle for the Chicago Bears (1940-52)
    Assistant coach for the Chicago Bears (1952; 1954-57) and the Baylor football team (1953)
    Head coach for the New York Titans (1962)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was married twice and divorced once.
    He was initially considered too small to play football when he attempted to make the Hardin–Simmons University football team.
    He was the subject of a tampering investigation by the NFL, after it was revealed Detroit Lions owner George Richards paid for his dental work in order to convince him to sign with the team.
    He left his assistant coaching position with the Bears, only to return to the team again, after one year at Baylor.
    His only season as a head coach was spent with one of the AFL's most dysfunctional franchises in the Titans.
    He didn't get a second season as a head coach, as he was fired after the team was sold.
    He wound up broke and nearly penniless in his later life.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He earned All-American honors during his junior year at Hardin–Simmons University (1939).
    He worked as a cattle farmer for the majority of his life.
    He was a member of the Bears team that won four championships during the 1940's.
    He was one of two rookies to earn All-Pro honors (1940).
    He served as a physical training instructor in the United States Air Force during World War II.
    He was loyal to the Bears franchise as both a player and a coach.
    He worked as a salesman for the Interstate Steel Company in the 1970's.
    He retired from coaching to focus on his cattle ranch, which he maintained for the remainder of his life.
