Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was passed over in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, despite having posted solid numbers in Kelowna.
He used his no-trade clause with the Canadiens to block a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He spent the last few seasons of his career on a moribund Sabres team instead.
His play dropped off significantly enough, that he was unable to hold down a roster spot on a bad Sabres blueline in the final seasons of his career.
He cried like a schoolgirl at his retirement press conference.

Why he might not be annoying:

He captained his hometown Kelowna Rockets to the franchise's first Memorial Cup championship (2004).
He embraced his trade to Montreal, citing it gave him more of an opportunity to develop as a full-time player.
He served as an alternate captain in both Montreal and Buffalo.
Don Cherry felt he should have been considered for the role of team captain for the Canadiens.
His hard-nosed gritty style of play made him a fan favorite for every team he played on.
