Why he might be annoying:

He originally wanted to be a big band drummer.
His signature look was sporting long hair and a moustache.
His singing voice sounded similar to that of his bandmate, Larry Stewart's.
He was a member of the short lived group The Buffalo Club.
He walked out on The Buffalo Club citing medical reasons, but wound up reuniting with Restless Heart months later.

Why he might not be annoying:

He moved around frequently growing up, due to his father's profession, but considers Syracuse, New York his hometown.
He initially played the trumpet and violin, before finding his niche as a drummer.
He proved to be a capable replacement as lead vocalist for Restless Heart in wake of Larry Stewart's departure.
He was a rarity in country music at the time, as he was a drummer who could actually sing, rather then be in the background.
He lobbied the record executives not to seek replacements for Larry Stewart and Dave Innis, wanting to instead maximize the talents of the group's remaining members.
