Although claiming the Mike Brady role 'embarrassed him,' he reprised the role for 'The Brady Bunch Hour (1977)' and 'The Bradys (1990)' TV series and two TV movies, 'The Brady Brides (1981)' and 'A Very Brady Christmas (1988).'
He drank 106 pints of beer in a single drinking session.

He graduated the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
He was an accomplished dramatic actor with two EMMY nominations for his roles in 'Rich Man, Poor Man' (1976) and 'Roots' (1977).
