The Resume

    (October 4, 1965-March 22, 1993)
    Born in Portland, Oregon
Killed in a boating accident on Little Lake Nellie near Clermont, Florida
Relief pitcher for the Cleveland Indians (1989-92)
Career record of 16 wins, 19 losses and 48 saves
    Career ERA of 3.10

Why he might be annoying:

He spent his career on some dreadful Indians teams.
He had an unusual submarine pitching style, which saw him use a low sidearm delivery throw.
He developed his style from throwing rocks in a lake.
His inability to get left-handed hitters out, prevented him from being one of the top closers in the game.
He used 'Yellow Submarine' as his intro music, due to the fact he was a submarine pitcher.
He, along with teammates Tim Crews and Bob Ojeda got drunk and opted to go alligator hunting at night, in a decision that would cost him his life.

Why he might not be annoying:

He defied the odds and made it to the majors as a 16th round draft pick.
He ignored his coaches' advice and opted to perfect his sidearm pitch, rather than convert to a traditional motion.
He drew comparisons to fellow closer Dan Quisenberry as a result of his submarine pitching style in the role.
He established himself as the Indians closer during the 1992 season, the year prior to his passing.
Two years after his passing, the Indians played 'The Dance' by Garth Brooks in his memory, following the team's 1995 American League championship victory.
