Why she might be annoying:

She married at age 16.
She was twice divorced.
She had 'God talks' with Elvis on the 'Frankie and Johnny' set.
She nearly quit 'The Beverly Hillbillies' to follow Elvis after the movie was filmed.
She recorded a country album and a gospel album.
She was offered a role on a prime time soap but turned it down because it was too trashy (what did she expect?).
Though typecast as Elly May Clampett she claimed she doesn't mind as she is proud of the character.
