    He eliminated a US-funded program providing HIV testing, condoms, and medical care for people with AIDS (2016).
    He threatened to arrest and deport anyone campaigning in favor of gay rights.
    He said that women who use birth control ‘are lazy… They do not want to work hard to feed a large family.’
    He declared that COVID-19 had been eliminated by a national prayer campaign (June, 2020), and stopped releasing data on the spread of the disease.
    He banned public health officials from mentioning the disease.
    He claimed vaccines were dangerous and encouraged people to inhale herb-infused steam instead.

    He taught mathematics and chemistry before going into politics.
    He implemented measures to curb government spending, such as banning unnecessary foreign travel by officials.
    He purged thousands of ‘ghost employees’ from the government payroll.
    He cut his salary as president from $15,000 per month to $4,000.
    He personally participated in a national cleanup effort to curb the spread of cholera (2015).
    He eliminated fees for attending government primary and secondary schools (2016).
