Famous for the hit 'Lady Marmalade'

Why she might be annoying:

From 1962 until 1967, they were the 'BlueBelles' until a 4th member, Cindy Birdsong, quit to become a Supreme.
They wore 'space' costumes, complete with huge white feathers and silver cat suits.
Their most famous song was about a Creole hooker, 'Lady Marmalade.'
The chorus is 'Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?,' which translates to 'Would you like to sleep with me tonight?'
Television censors forced the group to change the suggestive lyrics from 'coucher,' meaning 'to sleep,' to 'danser,' meaning 'to dance.'
After the ladies broke up, Nona and Sarah were unable to achieve the same solo success as Patti.

Why she might not be annoying:

LaBelle collaborated with Laura Nyro for 1971's 'Gonna Take A Miracle,' a collection of soul cover songs.
'Lady Marmalade' was one of the first mainstream disco hits in 1975.
Upon finding out the meaning of the French lyrics, religious groups attempted to ban the song, which only propelled it to more success.
The Pink, Mya, Lil Kim and Christina Aguilera remake went to number one in 2001.
