Former and current Dodgers include Jackie Robinson, Don Drysdale, Sandy Koufax, Duke Snyder, Don Sutton, Fernando Valenzuela, Mike Piazza, Hideo Nomo, Gary Sheffield, Shawn Green, Eric Gagne
    Ten retired numbers: Pee Wee Reese's #1, Tommy Lasorda's #2, Duke Snider's #4, Jim Gilliam's #19, Don Sutton's #20, Walter Alston's #24, Sandy Koufax's #32, Roy Campanella's #39, Jackie Robinson's #42 and Don Drysdale's #53

Why they might be annoying:

They were beaten in the 1951 playoffs by one of the most famous home runs in baseball, that of Bobby Thompson (The Giants win the Pennant! The Giants win the Pennant!).
Two words: Tommy Lasorda (who claimed God was a Dodger fan).
They were nicknamed the 'Trolley Dodgers' because of the complex maze of trolley cars that weaved its way through Brooklyn.
Many of their star players left the team in 1901 to join teams in the newly-formed American League. After that happened, it took them a few years to be considered competitive in the National League again.
Babe Ruth pitched 13 consecutive scoreless innings against them in 1912.
When asked what the chances were for the Dodgers to make a run at the pennant, New York Giants manager Bill Terry said: 'Brooklyn? Is Brooklyn still in the league?'
They lost their first 7 World Series.'
    One word: Fernandomania.
They ended the 90's and started the new millennium with one of the highest payrolls, yet haven't been able to make much noise in the playoffs.
Despite being one of the most popular baseball teams, they disappointed a large fan base by leaving Brooklyn for Los Angeles. To make matters worse they coaxed the New York Giants to leave New York and move to San Francisco.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were the first baseball team to move to the west coast.
They played a 26-inning game against the Boston Braves.
They recorded the only unassisted triple play in World Series history (1920).
Babe Ruth signed with them as a first base coach at 43 (1938).
They were the first team to back the color line, by promoting Jackie Robinson to their team.
Jackie Robinson was named the first-ever Major League Rookie of the Year (1947).
Three years later, Robinson was named the NL MVP.
They won their first World Series in a game 7 against the Yankees in Yankee Stadium.
They were part of baseball's plan to bring the sport to all parts of the country when they moved to Los Angeles.
Maury Wills stole 104 bases in 1962.
On April 25, 1976, future Dodger and current Chicago Cubs player, Rick Monday, saved an American flag from being destroyed by two protesters outside of Dodger Stadium.
Don Sutton won 166 games during the 1970's.
Kirk Gibson's pinch-hit home run in the 1988 World Series is one of the greatest moments in baseball history.
Eric Karros, Mike Piazza, Raul Mondesi and Hideo Nomo all won the Rookie of the Year award in four consecutive seasons (1992-95).
They're one of baseball's most storied franchises.
