He sported a faux hawk hairstyle.
His first acting gig was in a straight-to-video 'Children of the Corn' flick.
He was romantically linked to reality tv star Audrina Patridge.
He portrayed a teenager on 'Glee' when he was in his 20s.
He apparently committed suicide while awaiting sentencing after being convicted of possessing child pornography (January 30, 2018).

Why he might not be annoying:

He generated positive reviews when he sang Neil Diamond's 'Sweet Caroline' on 'Glee.'
He was an athlete in high school, but says he wasn't a 'douchey' jock.
Outside of acting, he's part of Christian rock band called Jericho.
He taught guitar lessons before becoming an actor.
He was a student at the Los Angeles Music Academy.
He sent out 50 resumes to agents and got only one reply--that reply lead to his role on 'Glee.'
He joked that in real life, he's a lot worse than his bady boy character on 'Glee.'
