Why they might be annoying:

Lester Flatt was overweight.
Scruggs pressured Flatt into covering Bob Dylan's song 'Like A Rolling Stone' in 1968.
Earl Scruggs tore the group apart by landing concert appearances in venues that normally booked rock & roll acts.

Why they might not be annoying:

Lester Flatt suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in November 1978 and died in May of 1979.
By age 10 Earl Scruggs had mastered the banjo.
'Foggy Mountain Breakdown' was featured in the 1968 film 'Bonnie and Clyde' that starred Warren Beatty.
They made the Bluegrass genre famous in ways that not even Bill Monroe (who pretty much invented the sound) ever could.
