He jokingly promised that if Kirby Puckett was batting over .350 when his child was born he would name his kid Kirby. True to his word, since Kirby was hitting better than .350, he gave his son, Keith, the middle name Kirby.
His streak of anchoring Olympic prime time coverage for NBC came to an end at 157 nights (dating back to 1992) due to an eye infection (February 11, 2014).
