    Wrote 'Waiting for Godot,' 'Happy Days,' 'Endgame' and 'Krapp's Last Tape'

    He was one of the most original writers in history.
    He won the Nobel Prize for Literature (1969).
    He won the Croix de Guerre with a gold star in 1945 for his work with the French Resistance during World War II.
    His only screenplay ('Film') provided Buster Keaton with one of his last roles.
    He wrote some of his works in French and some in English and then translated them into the other language.
    He lived in the same town as Andre the Giant and use to drive him to school.
