Acted in 'Column South (1953),' 'It Came From Outer Space (1953),' 'Tumbleweed (1953),' 'Ride Clear of Diablo (1954),' 'Ma and Pa Kettle at Waikiki (1955),' 'This Island Earth (1955),' 'Attack of the Crab Monsters (1957),' 'The Space Children (1958),' 'The Twilight Zone (1960, 1961),' 'The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965),' 'Hitch Hike to Hell (1977),' 'Kill Squad (1981)' and 'Robotech (1985)'

Why he might be annoying:

He was in many god awful sci-fi movies and westerns, some of which were mocked on 'Mystery Science Theater 3000.'
In his early westerns, he was typecast as villainous outlaws.
In the original 'Gilligan's Island' theme song, his character was dismissively referred to as 'and the rest.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He is known for his charm and friendliness to his fans.
He earned the Purple Heart as an Army Air Corps crewman during World War II.
His son died of AIDS, and he has helped to raise a lot of money to fight the disease.
His film 'This Island Earth' is considered a genre classic.
He used to complain about being associated with 'Gilligan's Island,' but eventually he came to embrace it.
