He created a show about a naïve, ignorant sponge that lives in the water.
The octopus on his show has 6 tentacles instead of 8. When someone asked why this was so, he said 'I just thought he'd be a little too cumbersome as a character to have too many legs visible. Maybe that's why he's so angry!'

'Spongebob Squarepants' is Nickelodeons most popular show and turned Nickelodeon into the 2nd highest viewed TV station on college campuses.
He attended Humboldt State University.
He taught Marine Biology at the Orange County Marine Institute for 3 years.
He got a master's degree in experimental animation from the California Institute of the Arts.
He said that the message he is trying to send via 'Spongebob Squarepants' is 'Treat people the way you want to be treated.'
He produced a 'Spongebob Squarepants' movie.
