Why he might be annoying:

    He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 1962 NFL Draft and never played for them.
    He lost 9 games and only won one game in his first AFL season as a starting quarterback.
    He led the AFL by fumbling 9 times (1965).
    He threw 268 career interceptions.
    James Harris beat him for the starting quarterback position resulting in him being traded to the Packers (1974).
    He was the head coach of the defunct USFL's Los Angeles Express.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He guided the University of Kansas to victory over Rice University in the 1961 Bluebonnet Bowl, 33-7.
    He was versatile, playing as the quarterback and halfback in college, and won All-American honors twice.
    The University of Kansas retired his #21 jersey.
    He led the AFL in passing twice (1965 and 1968).
    He was named the Rams 1973 MVP after leading them to the playoffs.
    He was a four time AFL All-Star (1964-65, 1968-69) and a two time Pro Bowler (1972-73).
    Prior to the NFL's numbering system, he was the last starting quarterback to have a higher number than #19.
