Why he might be annoying:

    He ran unsuccessfully for Parliament as the Labour candidate for Wells (1997).
    At more than one Festival, heavy rains have resulted in a knee-deep mix of mud and cow manure.
    He was accused of 'selling out' after hiring concert promoter Mean Fiddler to handle security (2002) after years of rampant gatecrashing.
    One of his cows died after swallowing a tent peg left behind by Festival attendees (2007).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was inspired to start Glastonbury after seeing Led Zeppelin at the Bath Festival of the Blues.
    Profits from the Glastonbury Festival are distributed to charities; frequent beneficiaries include the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, Greenpeace, Oxfam, and Water Aid.
    The Pyramid Stage for Glastonbury doubles as a hay barn and cow shed in the winter.
    At the Festival's 40th anniversary, he joined headliner Stevie Wonder to sing 'Happy Birthday.'
    At the 2016 Festival, he joined Coldplay onstage to sing 'My Way.'
