    He became a journeyman after he was traded from the Avalanche.
    His stint with the Capitals lasted one week.
    He played on two franchises which relocated roughly two years apart (Quebec and Hartford).
    He was injury prone throughout his career.

    He was a mainstay on the Nordiques blueline, prior to the team's relocation to Denver.
    He was a member of the Avalanche's first Stanley Cup championship team (1996).
    He was a member of the inaugural Minnesota Wild team, prior to his trade to Ottawa.
    He played in over 1,000 career NHL games, prior to his retirement.
    When he became a free agent, he returned to the Avalanche, and when a roster spot looked unlikely, he wisely elected to retire as a member of the team.
    He is an avid cyclist and has competed in various triathlons, following his retirement from hockey.
