Why Fremont, California might be annoying:

It has warm dry summers and mild damp winters.
It experiences low precipitation rates, due to its location in the rain shadow of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
It is the least known of the four major cities in the San Francisco Bay region.
It sustained major damage as a result of earthquakes on two occasions (1868, 1906).
It became a predominantly industrial city during the 1950's.
Its largest employer, the Fremont Cannery, was destroyed in a 1959 inferno, and was never rebuilt.
It drew notoriety after a Grand Jury revealed that its civic employees didn't comply with state laws and deleted emails of public records after 30 days, instead of the standard two years (2015).

Why Fremont, California might not be annoying:

It was the site of the Ohlone Tribe, prior to them being forced out by the Spanish tribes.
It was created as a result of an amalgamation between the communities of Mission San Jose, Centerville, Niles, Irvington and Warm Springs.
It experienced a significant population boom during the California Gold Rush.
The Niles region of the city was the earliest site for the movie industry, prior to its establishment in Los Angeles.
It experienced a second wave of growth during the 1980's and 1990's, following the rise of the tech industry.
It is home to the headquarters of Tesla, who purchased the former General Motors plant in 2010.
It is the home of the historic Mission San José chapel, which has remained in the area since the first Spanish mission in the 1700's.
