Mike Smith never played a game in the tournament.
Martin St. Louis only made the team as an injury replacement to Steven Stamkos, weeks after lashing out at Steve Yzerman for not selecting him to the initial roster.
Similar to their 2002 and 2010 victories, many Olympic pundits credit their victory to having a superstar laden roster.
Roberto Luongo was shaky early in the tournament and was replaced by Carey Price.
John Tavares got injured during the tournament, which caused him to miss the remainder of the NHL season.

Why they might not be annoying:

Patrice Bergeron, Sidney Crosby, Drew Doughty (D), Ryan Getzlaf, Duncan Keith, Roberto Luongo, Patrick Marleau, Rick Nash, Corey Perry, Jonathan Toews and Shea Weber earned Gold Medals for the second consecutive Olympic games.
Martin St. Louis and Steve Yzerman put their differences aside in time for the tournament.
Jeff Carter and Drew Doughty joined a handful of players to earn both a Stanley Cup and Olympic Gold Medal in the same season.
They won their first Olympic Gold Medal outside of North America for the first time in 52 years.
With their third Gold Medal in the last four Olympic tournaments, they were considered one of the Olympic hockey dynasties at the beginning of the 21st century.
