His full name is the repetitive Otis Junior Nixon, Jr.
He was a switch hitter.
He played on nine different teams during the course of his career.
He had a serious cocaine addiction, which earned him a 60-game suspension and an arrest for possession.
His suspension cost him a chance of playing in the 1991 World Series.
He became a born-again Christian after he announced his retirement from baseball.
He married singer Candi Staton, who is 19 years his senior.

He led the minor leagues in stolen bases on two occasions (1980, 1984).
He holds the Braves franchise record for most stolen bases in a single season (72 in 1991).
He shares the Major League record for most bases stolen in a game with six (June 16, 1991).
He made a diving catch over the wall to rob Andy Van Slyke of a home run during the 1992 NLCS.
He was considered a clutch player by baseball pundits.
He originally started his baseball career as an infielder, before being told his potential was better served as an outfielder.
