The Resume

Why Houston Oilers might be annoying:

They lagged in popularity, behind the Dallas Cowboys, amongst Texas based NFL fans.
Their primary logo was an oil derrick.
They were one of the first professional teams to employ a baby blue color scheme.
They failed to replicate their success following the AFL-NFL merger.
Their 1993 team is best remembered as one of the most dysfunctional teams in NFL history.
They are the first team in NFL history to be on the losing end of a large comeback (1993 AFC Wild Card game vs. the Buffalo Bills).
Their owner, Bud Adams, fought with Houston civic officials to get a football-only stadium built, as he felt his team wasn't profitable playing in the Astrodome.
When the city refused to concede to Adams' requests, the team moved to Nashville once the Astrodome lease expired.
Their final season in Houston saw fan, radio and corporate support deteriorate bad enough, that the city opted to terminate the Astrodome lease a year early (1996).
They lost their last game in team history, and to add insult to injury in front of a home crowd of close to 15,000 fans.

Why Houston Oilers might not be annoying:

They were one of the American Football League's eight charter franchises.
They won the AFL's first two championships (1960-61).
They had great rivalries with both the Dallas Texans in their AFL years and the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL years.
They signed Billy Cannon after his Heisman Trophy winning season, in what was considered a bold move at the time.
They are the first team in professional football history to play in a domed stadium.
Their 1993 team won the AFC Central Division title, despite the infighting within the locker room.
They retired the Oilers moniker following their rebranding after their relocation to Nashville.
Their inaugural uniforms were worn by the Titans during the 2009 NFL season, as part of the AFL's 50th anniversary throwback celebrations.
Their nickname paid tribute to the Texas oil industry.
