The Resume

    (circa 1898-1935)
    Located in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada
Also known as the Brandon Wheat City Hockey Club
Member of the Manitoba & Northwestern Hockey Association for the majority of its existence

Why Brandon Wheat Cities might be annoying:

Their team play in the 1904 Stanley Cup was described as lacking.
They frequently butted heads with the president of the CAHA over where to play their games.
They were shut out by the Ottawa Silver Seven in their first Stanley Cup challenge (1904).
And to top it off, they were shut out by the Kenora Thistles in their second Stanley Cup challenge (1907).
They have the distinction of never scoring a goal in their Stanley Cup challenge appearances as a result.

Why Brandon Wheat Cities might not be annoying:

They fielded both amateur and professional teams.
Their name paid tribute to Brandon's status as an agricultural city.
The Western Hockey League's franchise paid tribute to them by using the 'Wheat Kings' moniker.
Contrary to popular belief, the modern day Wheat Kings are not a continuation of this franchise.
