The Resume

    (September 8, 1901-September 6, 1966)
    Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands
    Edited the newspaper 'Die Transvaler'
Prime Minister of South Africa (1958-66)

Why he might be annoying:

He sued for libel after being called a Nazi sympathizer, but lost with the judge ruling 'he did make his newspaper a tool of the Nazis in South Africa and he knew it.'
As Minister of Native Affairs in the government of Daniel F. Malan, he was the principal 'Architect of Apartheid.'
He claimed his election as prime minister was God's will.
He called apartheid a 'policy of good neighborliness.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was shot twice in the face by a would-be assassin (April 9, 1960).
Six years later, he was stabbed to death in Parliament by a messenger.
Ironically, his assassin complained that he was 'doing too much for the coloreds and not enough for the poor whites.'
