Wrote the novels ‘The Cabala,' ‘The Bridge Of San Luis Rey,' ‘Heaven's My Destination,' ‘The Woman Of Andros,' ‘Ides Of March,' ‘The Eighth Day' and ‘Theophilus North' and the plays ‘Our Town,' ‘The Skin Of Our Teeth,' ‘The Matchmaker' and ‘The Alcestiad: Or A Life In The Sun'
Won the Pulitzer Prize for ‘The Bridge Of San Luis Rey (1928),' ‘Our Town (1938)' and ‘The Skin Of Our Teeth (1943)'

Why he might be annoying:

He never officially came out as a homosexual.
He was only romantically linked with one person, writer Samuel Steward who described him as being passionless.
‘Our Town' has been brutalized by many high school drama departments.
He was part of ‘the lost generation' of American writers, who would frequent the apartment of Gertrude Stein in Paris.

He had a twin brother who died at birth.
He was teased in school by his classmates who thought he was overly intellectual and serious.
His father was a strict disciplinarian who disapproved of his choice in career.
He is the only person to win the Pulitzer Prize for both fiction and drama.
He considered himself a teacher first and a writer second.
He believed that true beauty is found in ordinary experiences.
