Why he might be annoying:

He began doing voices on radio when he was six.
He said about his first children’s TV gig – subbing for a vacationing Sandy Becker -- ‘The first day was just disastrous.’
He imitated Oliver Hardy in commercials for Arby’s, Sinclair Oil, and Anco Windshield Wipers.
He was a cast member of the cancelled after one episode show Turn-On.
He was married three times, divorced twice.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was third-generation show biz: his grandfather performed in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, and his father played trombone and as arranger for the orchestra at New York’s Roxy Theater.
During a 114-day newspaper strike, he borrowed a page from Mayor LaGuardia and kept his viewers up to date on their favorite comic strips by acting them out on his show (1962-63).
He was a founding member of the Laurel and Hardy fan club, the Sons of the Desert.
He was good friends with Hugh Hefner and a regular at the Playboy Mansion.
He said of his seven decades in show biz, ‘I never thought of it as a career. I just look at it as things I love to do. I have just as much fun doing a 30-second commercial as I do making a movie.’
