Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He is remembered by casual fans for the shape of his nose.
To say he has a large nose is an understatement!
His nose has a bump and the tip dips down.
His nose has been broken numerous times.
Scrappers from opposing teams would invite a fight with him starting off with a nose joke.
He is the Flames franchise leader in career penalty minutes.
He reached the double digits mark in goals scored just once in his career.
His playing style was often compared to that of Dale Hunter (no relation).
He served on all three of Ron Wilson's coaching staffs, outside of Anaheim.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was nicknamed ‘Sharkey,’ which would later be ironic as he was both a player and coach for the Sharks franchise.
He was part of the final draft class for the Atlanta Flames, prior to the franchise's relocation to his hometown of Calgary a year later.
He is very proud of his huge nose, which he says is a family trait.
He was a member of both the Flames teams that participated in the Stanley Cup Finals in the 1980's, earning a ring in 1989.
He was a member of the Canucks team that made their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals in 12 years (1994).
Despite not being an offensive player, his defensive play and penalty killing skills made him a valuable asset for the teams he played for.
He served as an alternate captain for the Flames for the majority of his tenure with the team.
He was the head coach for the Canadian National Team at the IIHF World Junior Ice Hockey championship (2019).
