Why he might be annoying:

Philip Anschutz was a client of his.
He claimed a juror compared him to Perry Mason after winning his first trial as a lead attorney.
His signature issue is the debate over assisted suicide.
His voting record has resulted in his being likened to his predecessor Antonin Scalia - only younger.
He was accused of plagiarizing material for his first book, in 2006.
Planned Parenthood characterized his track record on women's reproductive rights, specifically his ruling on the Hobby Lobby case, as 'alarming.'
His nomination was accompanied by Senate Republicans' invoking 'the nuclear option' to remove the option of a filibuster for future Supreme Court nominees, after Senate Democrats threatened to block his appointment.

Why he might not be annoying:

He received his Bachelors degree in the Arts from Columbia University (1988).
His mother, Anne Gorusch Burford, was the first female head of the EPA, under President Reagan.
Barack Obama was one of his classmates.
He was a recipient of a Truman Scholarship, enabling him to attend Harvard Law School.
He earned a Doctorate of Legal Philosophy from Oxford University (2004).
He received the Edward J. Randolph Award for outstanding service to the Department of Justice.
At 49 years old, he became the youngest nominee to the Supreme Court since Clarence Thomas in 1991.
He was known as a 'feeder judge,' because numerous of his law clerks went on to be Supreme Court clerks.
His first act following his nomination was to call Merrick Garland, whose nomination under the previous Administration had expired due to the Republican-led Congress' inaction/delays.
