Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname was ‘Fuzzy.’
    He enjoyed playing golf in his spare time.
    He spent the last few seasons of his career on a poor Alouettes/Concordes team.
    He isn’t recognized as being one of the CFL’s greats, due to the fact he played in an era when defensive statistics were not tracked.
    Despite being considered one of the top defensive players of his era, he only had one individual award to show for his efforts.

    He was a humble man, who was proud of his small town roots.
    He was a member of two Grey Cup championship teams (1974, 1977).
    He was the Alouettes/Concordes franchise leader in career games played, prior to Bryan Chiu.
    He was named to the CFL All-Star team five times during his career.
    He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame (2009).
    He was the subject of Canadian singer Donovan Woods’ single ‘My Cousin Has a Grey Cup Ring,’ as he was the second cousin of Woods’ father.
