Voice Actor

The Resume

    (March 20, 1970- )
    Born in Los Angeles, California
Known by her married name, Linda Larkin-Yazquez
Guest-starred on Wings, Murder, She Wrote, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, and Doogie Howser, M.D.
Acted in 'Zapped Again!' 'Childhood's End,' 'Almost Home,' 'Joshua,' 'Runaway Bride,' 'You Belong to Me,' 'Final Rinse,' and 'Amok'
Best known as the voice of Princess Jasmine in Disney's 'Aladdin' (1992)
Provided voice work for the Direct-to-Video sequels, 'Return of Jafar' and 'Aladdin and the King of Thieves'
Provided voice work for 'Aladdin: The TV Series'
Provided voice work for the 'Kingdom Hearts' video game series

Why she might be annoying:

She 'guest voiced' on an episode of 'Sofia the First.'
She has been incorrectly identified as the voice of Snuggle the Bear.
She declined to sing 'A Whole New World' at the end of a DemonFM Radio interview.
She is typecast (and known almost exclusively) as the speaking voice of Princess Jasmine.
Even then, she is overshadowed in the Disney Princess franchise by Jasmine's singing voice, Lea Salonga.
She was made to lower her voice during the production of 'Aladdin' when it was determined that she sounded 'too young' for an Arabian princess.
She did voice work for a talking sea conch in a Carnival Cruises commercial, leading those who hear 'this is the sea calling' to inevitably exclaim 'hey, that's Jasmine!'

Why she might not be annoying:

    She is very sweet-tempered.
She did voice work for 'The House of Mouse.'
She originally had ambitions to be a professional dancer.
Her voice remained youthful enough for her to escape being replaced like her fellow 'Disney Princess vocalists.'
She also doesn't cling desperately to her 'Disney Princess' status the way some of the other Disney voice actresses do.
Her most notable credit to 1992 had been a guest appearance on the short-lived 'Ferris Bueller' series (only to strike gold as the leading lady in 1992's top grossing film).
Disney fans tend to be inexplicably confused as to how Princess Jasmine can 'have two voice actresses' (clearly they've never heard of Marni Nixon...)
She doesn't mind kids identifying her in public venues as the voice of Jasmine (or just flat out staring at her trying to place where they've heard her voice before).
