TV Game Show Contestant

The Resume

Why she might be annoying:

Jim Lange introduced her with the tagline: ‘She once earned a living massaging feet, but she quit when her boss suggested she work her way up!’ (wait… what?).
She spoke with an annoying, flirtatious ‘baby talk’ voice when quizzing the contestants.
She unwittingly picked a serial killer to go on a date with, out of three possible choices.
Her reasoning was weird and, frankly, phallic: ‘Well, I like BANANAS, so I’ll go with [Number] One!’
The line was in reference to her question ‘I am serving you for dinner; what are you called and what do you look like?’ (Rodney’s answer: I’m called The Banana. I look really good. Peel me!’).
A movie about her starring Anna Kendrick has been in development hell since 2020.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her ‘Dating Game’ episode is easily one of the most famous and viewed in the show’s history.
Show executives - unbelievably - failed to do a background check and allowed Rodney Alcala on as a contestant, even though he was by that point a registered sex offender.
She won a free tennis lesson with winner Rodney, but decided against it after meeting him face-to-face (she said: ‘I started to feel ill. He was acting really creepy’).
While it’s unclear if he would have tried anything given the high-profile nature of the date, it is very likely that her intuition saved her life.
Her episode is proof that serial killers can come off as charming and often know ‘just the right thing to say’ in order to get victims to go with them.
