The Resume

    (1914-1918)
    (1925-1926)
    Based in Portland, Oregon
Member of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (1914-18) and the Western Hockey League (1925-26)

Why Portland Rosebuds might be annoying:

They relocated to Portland from New Westminster, when they failed to establish a following in that city.
Their status as being the first American team to compete for a Stanley Cup is ignored by hockey pundits.
The original franchise folded two years after they appeared in the Stanley Cup Finals.
The second franchise lasted only one year, prior to the WHL folding.
Due to the events after the Western Hockey League ceased operations, they are mistakenly assumed to be a continuous franchise with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Why Portland Rosebuds might not be annoying:

They were the first ice hockey franchise to play in Portland, Oregon.
Their team name paid tribute to the city's nickname 'The Rose City.'
They had a great natural rivalry with the Seattle Metropolitans.
Their player contracts were transferred over to the Chicago Blackhawks, when the latter became one of the modern day NHL's first expansion teams.
