Why he might be annoying:

    He unsuccessfully ran a miniature golf course before going into the restaurant business.
    His first marriage broke up over his long work hours.
    He left two pre-Taco Bell chains because of disputes with his partners.
    His first device to fry taco shells was designed by a man who made chicken coops.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He began working to help his financially struggling family at age five, selling produce door to door.
    He was a cook with the Marines during World War II.
    He was married to Martha Ahl for 54 years until his death.
    One of his first restaurants was located a mile away from Dick and Mac McDonald's stand, leading him to ask, 'Hey, if you can do that for hamburgers, why not for Mexican food?'
