Wrote the Harding-Coolidge Republican presidential campaign song 'Harding, You're the Man for Us' (1920)

Why he might be annoying:

He came to the United States from Lithuania against his father's wishes.
He was three times divorced and four times married.
He wore blackface.
His brother Harry sued him for $25,000, because Al promised him $150 per week salary if he would not go into show business.
Despite being a Jewish taboo of naming a child in honor of the living, he egotistically named all three adopted children after himself (Al, Jr., Alice and Asa, Jr.).

He sung for the American Military Forces during World War II.
During his tour of performing for the military he was stricken with pneumonia and malaria (1943).
