Why she might be annoying:

She was married and divorced three times: 'I'd like to live with a man.... But I find men in real life don't come up to my fantasies.'
'Time' wrote, 'Sadomasochism in costume is a Rogers specialty,' noting that the heroine of 'Wicked Loving Lies' 'is violated twelve times by five men on three continents.'
She justified the frequent rape scenes in her novels by arguing, 'In the rape fantasy, you pick the man and the circumstances. It's not at all scary.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She was the first member of her family to work outside the home when she became a features writer for a Sri Lankan newspaper.
She refused to accept alimony from any of her husbands.
