Why he might be annoying:

Google searches sometimes turn up results related to low budget movie director Ed Wood.
He was originally cast in the lead role of Tom Powers in Public Enemy with James Cagney as Doyle, but director William Wellman switched the two after viewing the dailies. The film made Cagney an overnight star.
Wellman had cast two child actors to portray the gangsters as kids based on their resemblances to the two adult actors - but execs opted against refilming the opening sequence after the switch was made.
The glitch confused audiences - who were unaware that a change had been made - for years (Junior Coghlan as young Tom is noticeably taller than Frankie Darro as young Doyle as was the case with himself and Cagney).

Why he might not be annoying:

His first stage appearance was as Lionel Barrymore's son in a Salt Lake Theatre production of 'The Copperhead.'
Warner Bros allegedly promised to make the Public Enemy role switch up to him with later leading roles but reneged and dropped him when his contract expired.
During World War II, he worked with Ronald Reagan making training films for the U.S. Army.
After his film acting career ended, he went into producing, directing, and theatrical management.
James Cagney described him as 'a fine actor but a boy of gentle background, well-spoken and well-educated.'
