Vocalist

The Resume

    (July 1, 1930-July 27, 1990)
    Born in Fort Worth, Texas
Birth name was Robert James Byrd
Recorded the single ‘Rockin’ Robin’ (1958)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was a one-hit wonder.
Considering the title of his one hit, it might have been good idea to have kept his original last name.
Oddly, the single sleeve for ‘Rockin’ Robin’ showed him with an owl, a macaw, a couple of birds with blue plumage – but no robins.
His song ‘Beep-Beep-Beep’ was used in a commercial for the KIA Sorento (2012).

Why he might not be annoying:

‘Rockin’ Robin’ hit #2 on the pop chart, #1 on the R&B chart, and was certified gold.
He wrote several songs that became hits for other artists, including ‘Little Bitty Pretty One’ for Thurston Harris, ‘Buzz-Buzz-Buzz’ for the Hollywood Flames, and ‘Over and Over,’ which topped the Billboard chart for the Dave Clark Five.
He got screwed out of the royalties for several of the songs he wrote.
