World Leader

The Resume

    (December 14, 1960-May 19, 2024)
    Born in Mashhad, Iran
Birth name was Sayyid Ebrahim Raisolsadati
    President of Iran (August 3, 2021–May 19, 2024)
Served as Deputy Chief Justice (2004–14), Attorney General (2014–16), and Chief Justice (2019–21) of Iran
Died following a helicopter crash near Varzaqan

Why he might be annoying:

He lost his first run for Iran President to Hassan Rouhani (2017).
His 2021 election was allegedly rigged by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
He was accused of crimes against humanity by the United Nations.
He presided over the suppression of anti-government protests.
He pushed hard to revive nuclear talks with world powers.
He bragged about playing a role in the 1988 Iranian mass executions of political prisoners.
He held discriminatory views on homosexuality, calling same-sex relations ‘savagery.’
He tried to have it both ways by claiming 'no one has the right to violate the freedom and rights of girls and women' - and then signing harsher hijab restrictions for Iranian women.
He was sanctioned by the United States after ordering the striking of an American drone (2019).

Why he might not be annoying:

He began his clerical studies at age 15.
He said: ‘Teachers are the true intellectuals of society and must observe and warn of harm; teachers are the identifiers and civilizers of society.’
It is strongly suspected that his helicopter crash was not accidental, and may have been an elaborate political assassination.
