Biblical Character

The Resume

Why she might be annoying:

When David said he was too poor to pay a bride price, Saul demanded the foreskins of 100 Philistines instead. (David wound up paying double, killing 200 Philistines and delivering their foreskins to Saul.)
While David was hiding from Saul Saul married her off to Palti, son of Laish.
According to the Talmud, this marriage was never consummated, with Palti keeping a sword between them in bed (which probably also cut down on tossing and turning in their sleep).
She was allegedly cursed to not bear children after she mocked David dancing in celebration when the Ark of the Covenant was brought to Jerusalem.
Unlike David's later wives, Abigail and Bathsheba, the Bible does not describe her as beautiful.

Why she might not be annoying:

When Saul sent soldiers to stakeout David's house and kill him when he came out in the morning, she helped him in escape by lowering him out a rear window.
Her love for David may have been unrequited.
For example, when David married her, he declared himself 'pleased to become the King's son-in-law,' without saying how he felt about becoming Michal's husband.
Similarly, after David became King of Judah, his demand that Michal be returned to him seemed motivated less by his feelings for her than by the need to reinforce his legitimacy as a member of the royal house.
