Why she might be annoying:

    Her name is pronounced NYE-da.
    Her former coach Gary Barnett said 'Katie was not only a girl, she was terrible '(February 17, 2004).
    A former Colorado teammate said that everyone on the team gets harassed and called names.
    She had a chance to be the first woman to score a point in a bowl game but her extra point try against UCLA in the Las Vegas Bowl was blocked (December 25, 2002).
    She dropped out of Colorado University (Spring 2001).
    She requested the NCAA to grant her a sixth year of eligibility because she took a year off to deal with the mental trauma and health issues from her time at Colorado (February 13, 2004).
    She waited three-and-a-half years to come forward with her charges of rape.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She is the first woman to play in a Division I-A football game when she attempted an extra point for New Mexico in 2002.
    She was brutally raped at the home of a teammate (Summer 2000).

    She told the Albuquerque Tribune 'I was treated much more like a piece of meat there [Colorado University] because I'm a pretty feminine gal, and they didn't respect that about me' (August 22, 2003).
    Her high school record was 4 of 5 field goals and 83 of 87 points after.
    In her senior year she was nearly perfect 3 of 3 field goals and 27 of 28 points after.
    She is the second woman to suit up for an NCAA Division 1A game (September 18, 1999). Kathy Klobe of Louisville was 1st in 1995.
    She played for New Mexico Lobos and made history by being the first female to score points in a Division I-A football game. She kicked two extra points in a 72-8 win against Texas State (August 30, 2003).
    After appearing in the Las Vegas Bowl, she was a guest on ESPN, CNN, Good Morning America, CBS' The Morning Show and Fox News This Morning.
    She said of New Mexico's treatment of her: 'I have been able to play a game I love so much and also be part of a team that is like a family.'
    Her new Mexico coach Rocky Long said: 'Katie is a valuable member of our team.'
    New Mexico backup quarterback Tali Ena said she did everything on the field the guys did and even baked banana bread for the team.
    Her father is a US Army surgeon stationed in Iraq.
    Teen People Magazine name her one of 20 most influential teenagers in America.
