His nickname is 'Foxy.'
Despite being considered a first round pick, he dropped all the way to the third round.
He refused to sign an entry level contract with the Flames and the Hurricanes, when his rights were acquired by the team.
Many hockey pundits (correctly) believed his intention was to enter free agency, so he could sign with the Rangers.
He tried to downplay his decision by saying he was too focused on school to negotiate a contract.

He grew up as a Rangers fan on Long Island (hey, that takes guts).
He majored in psychology at Harvard.
He earned Rookie of the Year honors during his freshman year with the Crimson men's hockey team (2017).
He was the first Ranger defenseman since Brian Leetch to win the Norris Trophy.
He is the second defenseman in NHL history, after Bobby Orr to earn the Norris Trophy in his third season.
