Why he might be annoying:

He was a crazy old hermit.
He lived alone in a hut in the desert for 20 years.
When people came to see if he was still alive, he would lecture them through the wall.
He said he was tortured by demons.
He is often confused with the more famous St. Anthony of Padua.
He claimed he sat in a small room by himself for 20 years and never masturbated (and he also has a bridge he’d like to sell you).

Why he might not be annoying:

He sold all his possessions and gave the money to charity.
He had a cult following, with copycat hermits setting up all over the Sahara in tribute.
People liked him so much, they would throw food through his windows.
After 20 years of solitude, he went back to his normal life as if nothing had happened.
He lived to 105.
His story inspired Salvador Dalí, Hieronymous Bosch and other artists who like drawing demons.
